Practicum & Internship Information for School Counseling
Students interested in applying for field placement should schedule a meeting with their faculty advisor 60 days before the deadline to ensure plan of study is submitted and all requisite coursework is complete.
Practicum & Internship Applications are due by:
- SPRING SEMESTER DUE September 15th
- FALL SEMESTER DUE January 31st

Applications for Practicum/Internship Instructions

Consult with School Counseling faculty advisor (assigned advisor) prior to applying to discuss eligibility and placement site.
We recommend scheduling a meeting with faculty advisor 60 days prior to deadline, and again when ready to apply, to ensure all is on track with plan of study.

- The Department of Counselor Education will send out an email approximately two weeks prior to the field placement application deadline, containing the link below.

Apply for placement..
Upload the following documents no later than Sept 15 (for Spring) or January 31 (for Fall):
- Practicum Applicants: Submit Passing FTCE Scores and/or Evidence of a Test Registration Date and 1 Copy of a Current Security Clearance ID from the District in which you are seeking placement (per the instructions on their security clearance website).
- Internship Applicants: Submit Passing FTCE Scores and 1 Copy of a Current Security Clearance ID from the District in which you are seeking placement (per the instructions on their security clearance website ).
Note: Florida Department Of Education and FAU’s College Of Education require that students provide passing scores on the State Certification Exams (FTCE) to the Office for Academic and Student Services and Counselor Ed Office before being cleared for graduation.
